Jacob Shaffelburg is one of Nova Scotia’s top-performing athletes. Shaffelburg grew up in Port William, NS and found a love for soccer at a very young age. Jacob Shaffelburg (24) plays for Toronto FC and just recently got the news he also made the Men’s Canadian National soccer team for the 2022 season.

Shaffelburg signed with Toronto FC on June 21, 2019. He has been playing with TFC for two years now and loves every minute of it. Shaffelburg has been wanting to impress his coaches, teammates, and fans to show them what he is made of. On May 15, 2021, TFC’s winger, Jacob Shaffelburg scored his first-ever MLS goal for Toronto FC. Shaffelburg was ecstatic, as he should be. He explained that he has lifted some weight off his back and had been wanting to score a goal for some time now. This made top headlines on the MLS website and his team was even named MLS team of the week. This is a very big deal in the sports world.

In Nova Scotia, youth soccer players can now look up to Jacob Shaffelburg and hopefully aspire to be part of this wonderful game. Soccer is a very popular sport in this little province and with talented players, knowledgeable coaches, fantastic role models and solid clubs the players will continue to develop and gain a stronger understanding of the sport.

Shaffelburg is not only a fantastic soccer player but goes above and beyond in his community. He strives to make appearances at the local soccer facility in town and runs soccer camps throughout the Valley so youth players can gain more skills, talent, and knowledge. It’s not every day that a talented athlete comes home to give back to his community. We are Valley proud!
