Brady Tkachuk was a valuable player for the Ottawa Senators in their 2020-2021 season. The 22-year-old lead the team in points with 17 goals and 19 assists. Tkachuk has not yet signed with the team as they are waiting on his decision on where he would like to play. With not much experience playing in the NHL, Brady Tkachuk has proven to his team and to the community around that not only do the Ottawa Senators need him as a major contributor on their team but that young athletes are capable of great success within an organization. Without his return, Ottawa will then again see another young talented hockey player leave their organization, discouraging the team and the fans around the community.
As a 22-year-old who led the team in points their last season, Tkachuk has proven an asset to the organization that they can’t go without. Studies suggest that age and leadership capabilities are not correlated, in that age does not suggest one’s leadership behaviors. Since Brady Tkachuk is a young ice hockey player, playing at the highest level, he has proven his leadership capabilities towards the team as well as proven to all that young individuals can become leaders.
